Texas Instruments (TI) is the market leader in digital signal processors (DSPs). Many of the wireless phones sold worldwide contain TI's DSPs, which are also found in other products, such as DVD players, automotive systems, and computer modems. Additional TI semiconductor offerings include logic chips, microprocessors, microcontrollers, and display components. The company also makes calculators. Nokia accounts for about 20% of sales; nearly three-quarters of sales are in the Asia/Pacific region.
In 2009, TI reported revenues of $10.4 billion, down 17% from the previous year, and net income of $1.47 billion, down 23% from the previous year. The company spent $1.47 billion on research and development last year.
